Cinder Privacy Policy

Cinder does not require an account and does not collect app analytics, advertising data, or tracking data.

Video processing

Cinder processes videos on your device. Videos and their metadata are not uploaded to Cinder or developer-operated servers for compression.

Photos

If you grant Photos access, Cinder uses it only to select videos, save finished videos, or delete an original when you explicitly request that action.

Files and iCloud Drive

You can keep completed videos inside Cinder or in the Cinder folder in iCloud Drive. iCloud storage and syncing are optional, provided by Apple, and governed by your Apple account and Apple’s privacy policy.

Share Extension

When you share a video to Cinder, the Share Extension receives only the item you selected and passes it to Cinder for local processing.

Downloading from a link

Download from Link is an optional feature, off by default. When you enable it and paste a link, Cinder requests the video from that source or its media host so it can be compressed on your device. Cinder contains no browser and does not browse, search, or index any source; it requests only the link you provide.

The source and its hosts receive the normal information associated with an internet request, such as your IP address and user agent, and their own privacy policies apply. Cinder does not proxy these requests through developer-operated servers. Videos fetched this way are handled on your device like any other video you add to Cinder.

Local files and settings

Cinder stores settings, job information, temporary working files, thumbnails, and completed outputs in its local app or shared container. You can clear temporary files from Cinder, and files remain on your device or in your iCloud Drive until you delete them.

Support requests

If you use the Cinder contact form, we collect the name, email address, topic, message, and any optional app or device details you provide. We also retain a one-way hash of the request IP address and the browser user agent for rate limiting and abuse prevention.

Support requests are stored in the 1ar support system and sent to Pavel Larionov by email so the request can be answered. They are kept only as long as reasonably needed to respond, maintain support history, prevent abuse, or meet legal obligations. You can ask us to delete your request.

Apple services

Apple processes App Store distribution, purchases, optional iCloud storage, and any device diagnostics you choose to share under Apple’s own terms and privacy policy. Cinder does not add a separate crash-reporting or analytics SDK.

Children’s privacy

Cinder is not designed to collect personal information from children. The app itself has no account system or social features.

Changes

We may update this policy when Cinder’s behavior or legal requirements change. The current version will remain available on this page.
